Yoga is for every body, there is no need to be flexible or strong. We don’t bend or contort our bodies to fit into obscure poses like we see all over social media…..this is not what yoga is about. We do what feels right in our own bodies and it begins by just stepping onto our yoga mats with an open mind and a little curiosity.

Yoga is an ancient Indian practice which literally means union, the coming together of the body, the mind and the breath. We use breathwork and movement to take us out of our busy minds and into a space of inner stillness, we all have this inner space, we just need to find it and connect to it.  Yoga teaches us how to become completely present, allowing life to simply flow.

Yoga has a huge range of benefits including improving core strength and flexibility; improving posture and bone health, something that is so important, especially as we all age. Yoga keeps our joints healthy as we move them through their full range of motion. Yoga practice helps increase our blood flow and circulation. It has been shown to improve sleep patterns, helping us focus better.

Yoga boosts our whole immune system, lowering our stress levels, offering you a different way to look at life. Yoga strengthens the body-mind connection and reminds you that you are already perfect just the way you are!

At YTI, where I trained, a huge emphasis was placed on accessibility, making yoga work for your body. We can modify every asana to suit your body and your abilities, we dont ask you to change yourself in any way and in that light my class is put together to meet you exactly as you are.
